ISLAMIC, Egypt & Syria (Pre-Fatimid). Tulunids. Ahmad ibn Tulun, AH 254-270 / AD 868-884. Fals (Bronze, 16 mm, 1.28 g, 1 h), citing the Tulunid ruler Ahmad ibn Tulun and the Abbasid caliph al-Mu'tamid, struck in Tarsus or some other mint in Cilicia, without date. 'Ahmad ibn Tulun' in two lines; below, dynastic tamgha of the Tulunids. Rev. First half of the Kalima and the name of the caliph al-Mu'tamid. Album 663.2. Very rare. Thick deposits, otherwise, very fine.
